Originally from Honolulu, Hawaii, Vernelle has planted some roots in New York City since moving here in 1999. In the time Vernelle has been doing hair, she has had experience working in some of the most prestigious salons in Honolulu, Los Angeles and New York City. Her work experience includes hair for music videos, indie movies, photo shoots and New York Fashion Week, but her passion remains in the salon where she can work personally with her clients and continue to grow long-lasting relationships. She is meticulous, has a strong eye for detail and loves to make her clients happy.

With a career in the beauty industry that began in 2010, Mar has built a diverse and dynamic path working in renowned spas and salons across San Francisco and New York City. A licensed esthetician by trade, she’s spent years perfecting her craft while gaining a deep understanding of both the spa and salon worlds.
In 2019, Mar expanded her focus to leadership, successfully managing and mentoring multiple teams throughout her career. In her previous roles, she served as Spa Director at a prominent NYC spa, where she oversaw daily operations, staff development, and client experience — refining her skills as a leader dedicated to fostering growth, collaboration, and elevated service.
In 2025, Mar proudly joined Salon V as a partner, bringing her expertise in both service and strategy to one of New York City’s standout beauty destinations. She’s passionate about creating a supportive, inspiring environment where both clients and team members feel valued and empowered.

With over 20 years experience in the hair industry, James was born to be a Stylist. His passion for sketching and painting has fine tuned his eye for color, shapes and balance. NORIKO
After completing her education in Los Angeles, Noriko spent the greater part of two decades honing her professional skills at salons in Beverly Hills and West Hollywood. Noriko remains bi-coastal between Salon V where she joined the team in May 2017 and returns to Los Angeles to service her clients.
Noriko’s style provides access to effortless looks through precision and textured dry-cutting. Her favorite things are creating low maintenance, natural hair color, and free-flowing layers. Her friendly and relaxed spirit will make you feel comfortable, confident and look your very best.

JOSH

Joshua recently moved to New York being born and raised in New Mexico. He has been working in the hair industry for the past 17 years. He started working in the hair industry as a receptionist and selling products. This eventually sparked his interest into getting his cosmetology license from Toni and Guy Hairdressing Academy graduating in 2011. Toni and Guy, being a fashion forward school, laid down the foundation for Joshua’s interest in the editorial world of hair. When Josh became an independent stylist, he had no doubt that the culture, core values and outstanding performance of KEVIN.MURPHY products was a perfect fit for him and his clientele. Being inspired by Kevin Murphy, one of the world’s best session stylists, (a session stylist is someone who works in film, print, and fashion shows) encouraged Joshua to get into session styling in his own community. He networked with models, makeup artists and photographers and he is published in several magazines like BeauNu, Ellements, Faerie Magazine, The Boulevard Magazine, Kansha Magazine, HorizonT, British GQ, Elegant Magazine, and Ultraviolet Magazine just to name a few. He has worked in various Fashion Weeks, including New York, Miami and New Mexico and is continually inspired by fashion, culture and art. His love and passion for KEVIN.MURPHY led him to become an educator for the brand. RIEKO
SENIOR STYLIST / COLOR SPECIALIST
Rieko was born and raised in Japan. After studying at a beauty college in Tokyo, she wanted to live outside of Japan so she received a National Certification in Cosmetology and began her life abroad first in Toronto, Canada. After Toronto she returned for a time to Tokyo and then decided to move to Vancouver, but of course for anyone interested in furthering their beauty career, eventually she moved to New York in 2006.
Rieko specializes in giving her customers a “natural” looking style that is long-lasting and very low maintenance. She believes in strong conditioning for long term healthy hair. She really enjoys spending time with her clients, making them feel comfortable and welcome. Whether you want a cut, color or highlights, Rieko will make you feel naturally beautiful. She also specializes in Japanese “straightening” and perms.

MARIA
Born and raised in New York City of Italian immigrant parents. I worked in the banking industry for 8+ years after graduating college with a B.B.A. They say if you do what you love, it’s like never working a day in your life. So I decided to try something different and see where it takes me. After 30+ years and counting, I am still a hairdresser and I love what I do. I started my cosmetology career at Saks Fifth Avenue Beauty Salon as the assistant to the artistic director Maurice Tidy (who was one of the first 8 graduating students trained by Vidal Sassoon). The experience and training received there was priceless. The salon consisted of 144 employees and serviced some of the most interesting people in NYC. Within the 8 years at the salon, I had the opportunity to assist on a photoshoot for Bain de Terre for Vogue magazine and frequently participated in the in-house fashion shows for various departments at Saks Fifth Avenue store.Every client is special, and I appreciate and enjoy my relationship with clients, working in a beautiful salon environment and enjoy doing my part in educating clients about their hair and making clients look and feel their best. So, after all these years, I still feel like I never worked a day in my life.
